Siege Hero Viking Vengeance is a puzzle game in which you have to lay siege to the castle structures of Vikings using catapults and other such weapons. The lesser number of shots you use to destroy these structures, the higher your score is, and the more levels you can clear.
The game's background is the icy north, where the Viking sentries are at ready, trying to defend their rudimentary castle-like structures made of wood and rock. The structures are made of walls, roofs and parapets, and can be easily destroyed by the use of catapults. However, it is a lot harder to destroy them using the least amount of shots.
Siege Hero is divided into rounds, or levels, with each level presenting a different configuration of the structures, and the Viking guards therein. In each level, your goal is to not only destroy the structure, but also to kill all the Viking guards in the process. The Viking guards are killed only by the falling building blocks, including the roof and walls.
Apart from playing the game itself, the player also has the option of building their own scenarios. This option is available in the main menu, under the heading Castle Builder. Once you build your own castle, you can share it using your Armor Games account. If you do not have an account, you can create one for free; if you do not want to create an account, you can still play the castle or scenario created by you. You also have the option of playing castles or scenarios created by other players from around the world. Even though the original game comes with 35 levels created by the game's designers, with these additional levels, the number of available number is almost uncountable.
The game has a haunting music score suitable even for any Hollywood movie about Ancient Roman wars. Siege Hero Viking Vengeance is also available for iPad and iPhone as a free app. Overall, this is a very interesting game that exercises your grey cells even while it entertains you.
